Krs: SOCA & BLUES VOL. 1

Krs. pays homage to his hometown Kingston, Jamaica and celebrates his culture with good vibes, heavy riddims and bashment feels on his first EP, "Soca & Blues Vol.1”.

An infectious record, filled with high energy and bursting with Caribbean flavor, "Soca & Blues Vol.1” took nearly 3 years for Krs. to carefully craft each track to perfection and the result is pure gold.

Krs. demonstrates his versatility by seamlessly blending together Dancehall, R&B and Hip-Hop, only to bring out the best in each genre. Synth beats fused with Krs.’s iconic bass driven production enhance many of the melodies, adding an extra edge; while vocals by Marchel Montano, Kes The Band, Kerwin du Bois and Grammy award winning songstress Angela Hunt, elevate Krs.'s production skills to a whole new level.

While the entire album will evoke vibrations throughout your body, “Bruk Out" + “ Falling” are guaranteed to make you whine & dip all day long. "Circles Riddim" + "Girls From The Valley” are classic Krs. beats, featuring fast rhythms and deep bass. And the rueful rhythms of “Human” mesh so beautifully with Marchel Montano as he begs for forgiveness and understanding, singing, “Please, please forgive me / for all the wrong that I do or did / cause I am just a man / I just hope you can understand / that I am just human/ that was never the intention / and I hope you understand / please forgive me…"

Overall the production values on "Soca & Blues Vol. 1" are so outstandingly high that it can’t help but guarantee success.

"I've been wanting to release a project for almost 3 years. I spent time crafting each track trying to get that sweet spot of Electronic elements fused with the heavy riddims and bass from Carnival and Dancehall music"
