To be blunt, Bibi Bourelly is hip hop royalty. The 22 year old Moroccan & Haitian singer/songwriter from Berlin has paid her dues songwriting for some of the industry’s elite before coming into her own in 2016 with her solo EP’s, "Free The Real (Pt. #1)”, "Free The Real (Pt. #2)” and headlining her first national tour.
In her second single, "Ballin" from her latest EP, "Free The Real (Pt. #2)”, BiBi walks us through a day in her life as a struggling artist on the rise -- from having just lost her job, barely being able to pay rent and her Camry breaking down to eating ramen noodles (freak'd with the hot sauce), shopping at the Good Will and partying with the "bad bitches with hair on their armpits" in an abandoned warehouse in New York.
Bibi soulfully sings the story of being financially broke, but rich at heart as she humbly hustles her way to stardom. Finding beauty in the real and imperfect, Bibi shows her gratitude for the small things, despite not having a dollar to her name, yet having tasted stardom behind the scenes. She touches on getting a taste of fame but not letting it get to her head, singing "I don't need no fancy hotel lobbies / I doubt I'd get along with paparazzi / I just want a Slim Jim & a 40 ”, which is in reference to her bestowing her songwriting skills to artist such as Selena Gomez, Usher and Rihanna, which she is most known for. Yeah, our girl BiBi wrote Rihanna's 2x Platinum banger "Bitch Better Have My Money” at the young age of 20!
Bibi isn't lying when she chants the catchy chorus, “Balllin', ballin', ballin' / I'm so muh-mutha fuckin’ awesome…”. Her authentic and unfiltered songwriting abilities combined with the raw soulfulness of her voice have quickly propelled the edgy songstress to the immense success she has reached to date and we can't wait to hear more!

"I think when you do what you love, you block out all the other options. I was born to do this; it's not a fucking façade, or a phase."
